It is understandable that one who has not been associated with the Catholic Church for quite some time would be unaware that the cup has been offered for a few, in terms of Church history, years. No, it's not understandable, unless it is fair to conclude that said person is equally ignorant on other aspects of the Catholic Church as well. These "few years" have been the last several decades when all of us have been alive, not some event in the distant past. Basic errors like that don't lend to credibility on other matters dealing with the Catholic Church.

Are you suggesting that the Bread and Wine have been offered to the congregants in all churches lo these several decades?

Oh, and was it an oversight when you converted my "...cup has been offered for a few, in terms of Church history, years." to "few years" (several decades)?
Church history is not counted in decades is it?

And do I expect you to keep up with the internal affairs and goings on of various denominations with which you are not affiliated?
What happens in the Catholic church is important to Catholics, but don’t make the mistake of thinking that the RCC serving the cup at communion after centuries of not is going to make headlines in the MSM.
Nobody but Catholics care.
