I didn't say I thought Quix was orthodox.

(Quix, work with me here, I don't have the energy for the courtesies.)

I am sure I have done things the evil of which is more apparent to Quix than to me. And, "for completeness", I am sure I have done or said good things which Quix mistakenly thinks to have been evil.

And mutatis mutandis.

I am not an indifferentianist (is that correct? I hope you know what I mean.) I think if a "charismatic" Catholic group were to meet Quix and get him into full communion, it would be WONDERFUL!

Do I think Quix is "in error"? You bet. Do I think He loves Jesus? I think he does the best he knows how.

That love is not of human origin. It is from God.

In the phrase "separated brethren" I will always insist that "brethren" is MORE important than "separated", which is also important.

Dear Mad Dawg,

No, sorry.

First, actual, real Christians don't call Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, “Soylent White Wafer.” Those are the words of pagans. Ditto on vulgar, vile comments on the toilet habits of the Holy Mother of God. For folks who make comments like this, one must presume that they don't have the Holy Spirit. In fact, one must accept the possibility of dealings with demons.

Second, reading post 3052 raises a host of questions. There's the inherent gnosticism of the whole quivering mess. But there are also questions of ontology. It's not very well written, and thus part of the problem is that it's difficult to interpret, looking like it was written by a seven year-old. An illiterate one, at that. So, it's possible that upon close questioning, some of the more poorly written garbage of that post might actually turn out not to raise questions about beliefs about the ontology of the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity.

But, especially in light of evil postings about Jesus and Mary, one must proceed with caution, and seriously entertain the notion that the post is cultic, gnostic nonsense, having nothing to do with Christianity.

I'm not ruling out the possibility of an extremely... *heterodox* form of Christian. But you are too glib with your acceptance of self-assertions.

I had a friend when I was in graduate school (the second time). He also said he loved Jesus. I counted him my best friend in school. We took all our classes together, and we always got on project teams together. We always watched each other’s back, because we knew that we could rely on each other. He, of course, believed very strongly that he was a Christian.

But he was a member of the LDS, and thus, I couldn't credit him with belonging to the Body of Christ.

He was a great guy, I loved him like a brother. But...

That doesn't mean that I entirely rule him out as possibly being a member of the Body of Christ. I sometimes wonder whether God can see a devout Mormon so trying to love God that God overlooks the completely defective construct that the LDS have of God, and hears his prayers.

But it is speculation on my part as to whether this is possible, whether God condescends to this degree. I believe that God is Love, and that God desires so much for each and every heart to be united with His.

But I'm not God, and I can't say what God does with such an individual as my LDS friend.

Certainly, the LDS organization is not Christian. Certainly, my friend did NOT hold Christian belief. But he DID really love Jesus.

I don't know.
