May we be so scattered in our conceits that we become lowly. And when we are lowly, let us rejoice that He lifts us up.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised. There is no end to His greatness!
And, Lord, if we may dare to contradict the words of the Psalmist, prosper not our handiwork, but yours in us, who without you are nothing but in you may one day see the joy and peace and end of every longing heart.
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
THX THX.
The Psalmist says, He gives to His beloved sleep.
Lord, whether I watch or sleep may I rest in your love, the love which promises that you will fight for me and I have only to keep still.
Lord, I am afflicted and so sinful that even keeping still is beyond me. Do you be still while I toss and turn, and let your stillness and my unease redound to my salvation and that of all whom You love,
You who live and reign at the still and resting point of all that is good, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, in glory everlasting.
