"I never realized Rome had such rapport with agnosticism." I apologize if my typing is a little slurred. We have just invented a new drinking game called DRECK. Every time Dr. Eck uses the word Rome disparagingly we have to take a drink. A few more days on this thread and I am going to need a liver transplant.

Re: your "drinking game" My dad said what he liked most about the Catholics was that he could go out on the golf course with the priests and they would tell dirty jokes, smoke and then drink like fish back at the clubhouse afterward. He though that kind of behavior was okay, fine.
Why does the clergy get such a pass on things other Christians would consider as sinful? Excessive drinking, smoking, cursing and telling dirty jokes sure doesn't sound like how a man who is "acting in the place of Jesus Christ" should be. Is it just me being a prude or does anyone else see a disconnect here?

A lot of the posts on y’all’s side indicate that the need for a liver transplant was passed a long time ago.
It may be miraculous that some are still functioning at all.

I would no sooner believe that the good Dr. E. would speak disparagingly of the Church than I would believe that the Democrat National Committee should be confined to bed rest and a heavy and round the clock dose of tranquilizer.

A few more days on this thread and I am going to need a liver transplant. It would be a waste of a scarce resource to transplant a good liver if the brain is already pickled.
