"The Lord never gave consent to pray to your Mary-Ishtar proxy."

I didn't think you would pray with me with or without the reference to Mary. Thank God your opinion is worth no more than I paid for it.

Your version of Christianity, if it can be called Christian, reminds me of the ultra Orthodox and Hasidic Jews I encountered in Israel. You and they don't believe God's word went far enough and have taken upon yourselves to extend them on your own authority. Where they have taken an admonition to eat no meat cooked in its mothers milk, a reference to a Baal ceremony, they have taken it to an extreme and interpreted it as absolutely no meat and dairy in the same kitchen, ever. You have gone off on your own tangents. That, my friend, is between you and God, just don't expect me to respect it.

Hey, the rabbis knew they were going beyond the stated law -- "building a fence around the Torah" is the term; psychologically sound, I think. And it's not "no meat and dairy in the same kitchen" -- even the orthodox have only one refrigerator. And they keep both meat and dairy in it (separate shelves).

Also, it helps to remember that, while the odds against someone who buys his milk from a supermarket and his meat from a kosher butcher inadvertantly mixing the meat with the milk of the animal's mother are beyond astronomical, this wasn't true when the norm was the tiny family farm.

Now back to your regularly scheduled . . . whatever! ;-)

.
I pray hundreds of times each day, and have never prayed to any but to the Father as Jesus instructed, in his name. (That means by his authority; we have never been granted any other authority to pray to others)
