That is disgusting and a direct attack against all Catholics. Do we try to put ALL Protestants into one pot and do something like that? No.

Surprised at your rant. It just doesn’t seem like you.

Are you answering the question? It really wasn’t addressed to you, however.

That’s why the Assumption of Mary is not in the Bible.

So where do you get this from??

No, he paid for the construction of a supposed Catholic Church with his own money. The Church is NOT affiliated with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Cardinal Mahoney did something right there!

is your mammy? it's about as relevant a question.

I asked that question because even though that poster said that once a Catholic always a Catholic, he has also posted that Mel Gibson is not a Catholic. That is why the question is relevant on this thread.

So are you saying that the Bible is NOT about Christ?

That’s a very revealing statement.

Thank you for making it.

“And from whom did Jesus come? LOL. That was about as weak a come back as I have seen.

First, I don’t care who Catholics pray through. It’s their thing.

But, Mary was not born into a divine nature nor given any special powers.

She was Jesus’ mother and never performed any works that would indicate God had chosen her for more than birthing Christ.

Jesus, on the other hand, was born of a divine nature and came by and from God, a spirit made flesh.

Mary was flesh and will one day be spirit.

“Mary is dust ... “

I believe you are incorrect. Mary was assumed into heaven, after she died. This is celebrated in the Catholic Church as the Feast Of The Assumption.

It wasn't dust who appeared to the three children at Fatima, I might point out.

By your thinking, Mary would not be around except for HER mother, through whom Mary came. So why don’t you go show more respect for the Grandmother of God. But then the Greatgrandmother of God would be even greater... and so on, and so on.....

Worship Judas Escariot? Well I would, what’s in it for me?

Some silver and maybe Ginsu knives?

Mary was assumed into heaven, after she died.

Now where in Scripture is that found?

“non-sequitirs, Einstein.”

No sarcasm necessary, nor any name calling.

Being a mother myself I am well aware of the value of mothers.

As for proofs, Scripture forbids us to pray to the dead. I know, we are all alive in Christ. Yet Saul got in big trouble for seeking the dead Samuel, who was of course and remains alive in Christ, awaiting the resurrection.

Just like Mary.

I think we need to obey God’s laws on this and other matters. It is fine to ask others to pray for us. But it is not ok to attempt contact with the dead; it is expressly forbidden. If you do it, you should stop.

I covered this somewhere above.

I'm off the case, y'all. Said all that needs to be said about this. Can't beat someone into admitting the sky is up.
