Are you speaking of my post in 316 or someother post. In 316 I was attempting to cast a previous poster’s statements in an ironic light.
As for Mary:”27As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.
28He replied, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it” Luke 11:27-28
Mary can’t help us, only Humility to God thru Christ Jesus and adherence to the word of God can avail the soul!
Sorry, I was speaking the the premise that any blessings must come through Mary - the main post.
Where exactly did I lie?
I concluded that you lied here:
"armydoc wrote: I completely agree that the historical teachings of the Catholic Church held the interpretation of EENS that you hold."
BUT upon looking at it again, I see what you meant, that my interpretations are in line with the "historical" teachings of the Church.
I apologize for the accusation, calling you a liar. You just don't know that what you call "historical", is dogma, an absolute unchangeable truth, that can't be changed in later times. Since you are a Protestant, a philosophy that requires no adherance to any doctrine, you will never understand the hierarchy of dogma, and there is no point in going further. I've written enough.
My years have taught me that the litmus test of a REAL Christian is marriage and birth control. Real Christians stay married till death and have as many children as God sends. They don't use birth control. If I see a person who calls themselves Christian and is divorced and remarried, I know that they are hypocrites. If I see a couple with no children because they use birth control, I know they have not in God's Grace. How many Christians like that do you know?
mdmathis6 asked:
Well a lot of Muslims, Jews, Mormons must be Christians then...proof of a Christian is that they stay married and have lots of children
In that respect ANY people that stay married with one wife and have as many children as God sends, behave more Christian than people who call themselves Christian. However, the few groups that you mentioned, don't call themselves Christian.
How many Christians do you know that stay married for life and have as many children as God sends? Not too many in this world.

armydoc asked:
By your definition, the ONLY Christians in this world are card-carrying Catholics, correct?
Few Catholics today stay married for life, and even fewer, I dare say, practically none, have as many children as God sends. Few Catholics will be saved.
If you only knew the women who will go to Hell because they did not bring into the world the children they should have given to it. ( St. John Vianney)
Among adults there are few saved because of the sins of the flesh....With exception of those who die in childhood, most men will be damned. (St. Remigius of Rheims)
In the great deluge in the days of Noah, all mankind perished, eight persons alone being saved in the Ark. In our days a deluge, not of water, but sins, continually inundates the earth, and out of this deluge very few escape. Scarcely anyone is saved. ( St. Alphonsus Liguori)
As I have shown, you have not given any example which is clearly heretical. AND no new dogmas have been written by JPII or B16 which oppose the EENS dogma example that I gave.
So, let's both just leave it at that.
re: That should make any honest Catholic question the validity of that hierarchy.
Become an "honest Catholic" yourself, then you can be a sedevacantes. I have nothing against sedevacantes, I can understand how they come to their conclusions. I just won't go there. I'll let God sort that one out.
You are referring to the dogmatic decree:
Pope Boniface VIII, Unam Sanctam, Nov. 18, 1302, ex cathedra:
With Faith urging us we are forced to believe and to hold the one, holy, Catholic Church and that, apostolic, and we firmly believe and simply confess this Church outside of which there is no salvation nor remission of sin Furthermore, we declare, say, define, and proclaim to every human creature that they by absolute necessity for salvation are entirely subject to the Roman Pontiff.
Sedevacantes do not deny that "every human creature ... by absolute necessity for salvation are entirely subject to the Roman Pontiff", as ALL the non-Catholics do. They simply do not believe B16 is a real pope. BIG DIFFERENCE. Sedevacantes recognize the office of the pope.
All that said, you correctly pointed to one reason why I said "I won't go there" (sedevacantesism), and "I'll let God sort that out" (God would make it more obvious if the popes were false.
When Catholics once again return to the practice of the faith, they will have good shepherds that lead. The popes we have had since John XXIII are exactly what the people wanted, shepherds that let them do what ever they want. You should feel good about them, they tell you that you can be saved right where you are, along with the Kennedy's, Nancy Pelosi, and Billy Graham, the 33rd degree Mason.
Excerpted from Current FR thread:
"Lutheran Pastor wanting to convert, rebuked by Catholic Bishop. Is ordained by SSPX"
QUESTION: The Catholic bishop in Sweden some years back rejected Sten Sandmark's desire to be Catholic in favor of ecumenism. How do you view this bishop now that you are Catholic, and what do you think of ecumenism?
ANSWER: Well, about 12 years ago, five people went to the Catholic Bishop saying they wanted to be Catholic. He told us to "hold our horses," and said that we could be "Catholic in our hearts." The highest Catholic authority told us this, and hence we assumed this was a right thing to do. So instead of founding an Augustinian Catholic monastery, these five founded the monastery within the Lutheran Church. Some died, some left, so he was alone until I came almost three years ago. So the only "support" the bishop gave us in becoming Catholic was sending a Christmas card every year.
QUESTION: That's very sadto hear that some people wanted to become Catholic but were barred by those who should have welcomed them in. I'm sorry. ANSWER: We had been studying Catholic doctrine, and we were afraid because we thought that "outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation"and we did not want to be outside! But it seems that these Catholic bishops today think it's not true. It's a really strange behavior. There are 80,000 Catholics in Sweden; most of them are from the Eastern countries, but with a climate like this, of course there are no conversions.
Do tell, what heresies Doc? I suggest you study the early church. Mary, Mary, Mary...ah the Saint amongst the Saints. What would blind oneselve from the family of God? Thank you Lord for your family!
