How can an opinion that many of the self-porclaimed former Catholics on FR are actually lying about it be bigotry? Bigotry is based on prejudice, it has nothing to do with dishonesty. Yes, I believe that there are FReepers who claim to have been Catholics and are lying about it (I have good reasons for this, but there's no reason to get into it). If it makes you feel better, I'm sure there are plenty of Catholics on here that have lied about various things.
Why not just wish them well, and be free of the burden of having them in your head?
Who? The Catholics who were so impressed with the anti-Catholics on here that they decided to become Protestants? Have you found anyone that will come forward as a member of this elusive group?
And you don't believe you show prejudice against those who are telling you they are FORMER CATHOLICS?? lol! I can't think of a better definition of prejudice than the words of Catholics against those who are former Catholics. They are routinely dismissed as liars. If you seek proof, just re-read this article.
As far as elusive groups of former Catholics who have become Protestants, I couldn't tell you. And you couldn't tell me. God knows. Perhaps He will share that information with you. In the meantime, here's another scripture for your enlightenment pleasure:
."For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise." (2 Cor. 10:12).
The Big Flock Mentality believes there is power and truth and wisdom in numbers. Evidently not..
