METMOM AT POST 610: Every time Jesus encountered that mindset, He condemned it and responded with *It is written....*.

OK, Let's deal with it.

1. Either it is 100% true or 99% true or less true or 100% false. Please show by evidence which level of truth you believe it to be.

2. Let's say there's 1-2 times when it wasn't true or wasn't strongly true. That would leave . . . what . . . several to several dozen times [depending on how things were defined] when it WAS TRUE.

3. OK, Let's say metmom would admit she didn't examine every instance but spoke from a human memory. I think you'd have some sympathy for that phenomenon by the truck loads.

4. IT REMAINS TRUE THAT CHRIST SAYING SUCH A THING !!!!ONCE!!!! IS SUFFICIENT TO TRASH THE VATICAN PERSPECTIVE WHOLESALE. Saying it a 2nd time doubles the emphasis. Saying it a 3rd time multiplies it again. Saying it a 4th time multiplies it again. If He said it 90% of the time or 99% of the time, your nitpicking comes up extremely shabby indeed.

5. CHRIST--CREATOR GOD--STANDING THERE FACE TO FACE WITH THE RELIGIOUS EXPERTS

APPEALED AS !!!!A POINT OF AUTHORITY!!!! TO SCRIPTURE! NO AMOUNT OF SLIPPERY BUREAUCRATIC MAGICSTERICAL POLITICAL POWER-MONGERING WEASELY DIPLO-SPEAK CAN WIGGLE WAGGLE OUT OF THAT ONE.

However, it's a bit humorous in a pathetical sort of way, to watch y'all try.

I am remiss. I forgot to do a keyword search on the word *Scripture*. This is what I found just in the gospels. Jesus appeal to Scripture to verify what He said and what He claimed.

Matthew 21:42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “ ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone ; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’ ?

Matthew 22:29 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.

Matthew 26:54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”

Mark 12:10 Haven’t you read this scripture: “ ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone ;

Mark 12:24 Jesus replied, “Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God?

Mark 14:49 Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”

Luke 4:21 and he began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Luke 24:27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

Luke 24:32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

Luke 24:45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

John 2:22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

John 5:39 You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me,

John 7:38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”

John 7:42 Still others asked, “How can the Christ come from Galilee? Does not the Scripture say that the Christ will come from David’s family and from Bethlehem, the town where David lived?”

John 10:35 If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came—and the Scripture cannot be broken—

John 13:18 “I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the scripture: ‘He who shares my bread has lifted up his heel against me.’

John 17:12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.

John 19:24 “Let’s not tear it,” they said to one another. “Let’s decide by lot who will get it.” This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said, “They divided my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.” So this is what the soldiers did.

John 19:28 Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.”

John 19:36 These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken,”

John 19:37 and, as another scripture says, “They will look on the one they have pierced.”

John 20:9 (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)

CHRIST--CREATOR GOD--STANDING THERE FACE TO FACE WITH THE RELIGIOUS EXPERTS APPEALED AS !!!!A POINT OF AUTHORITY!!!! TO SCRIPTURE!

AMEN!

And as Christ appealed to the authority of Scripture, He was teaching those around Him and for generations and ages to come how to dispute error and learn the truth. Scripture is perspicacious, and more than capable of turning men from their own sins to the righteousness of Christ, if it is God's will to give them eyes to see and ears to hear.

But as you noted, even when standing "face-to-face" with God Himself, men still deny the obvious.

They've been blinded. There is no other answer.
