How about the fact that Christ died for our sins, and yet we could potentially be condemned for eternity if a doctrine of men was disobeyed? What a perversion of His sacrifice for all. There just MUST be a stopping point where nothing else is considered or thought out to it's logical conclusion, and eyes close and acceptance of rules and regulations are accepted. Without a fight. Or a question. It does amaze me, the things people are willing to accept with enthusiasm. Because it FEELS good. And it's SO beautiful. And SO many have accepted it.

The Big Flock Mentality.

Our sins have been forgiven. There’s nothing left to pay FOR.

Jesus said, “It is finished”.

We’re the ones as humans, who seem to have this need to feel like we need to pay for our sins, like we have to make up for the bad we did to God.

Making restitution to each other is good and necessary and it does relieve us of the feeling of guilt, but there’s nothing that we can do to make it up to God. For one thing, we’re forgiven. For another, there’s just way too much to make up for.

Besides, with forgiveness, God gets all the glory. With paying for it ourselves, we do.
