Scripture is the word of God; truth made known to men by the Holy Spirit. Scripture does not contradict itself. Men's beliefs and practices either align with Scripture or they contradict Scripture.

So apparently the good doctor wants to avoid the point that his argument and Bible texts work as well against him as for him.

Invoking Scripture as if it applied uniquely to your position when it could equally support your opponent is either disingenuous or stupid.
