BTW, isn't saying "Christ" the same as saying "The Incarnate One"? I mean really.....what's the difference?

The Names of God, Christ and Messiah, are very close. The Jews however were not expecting the Christ to be God but rather a descendant of David who would bring peace on earth for the nation of Israel, i.e. an anointed man.

And so the revelation of God the Father to Peter was very important:

Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, [The Son] of David. - Matthew 22:42

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. - Matthew 16:15-18

outrageously perverse from the Biblical stand poing.

It’s just mind boggling that anyone who claims to have even a moderate understanding of The Bible could tolerate such an outrageous idea.

Boggles my mind. I’m still stunned.

However, brazenly asserting the underlying deception, manipulation, IS a lot better than the ridiculous denials.

I was thinking more along the lines of who Christ really is as we know Him today, as opposed to who the Jews of those days thought he was supposed to be.
