Well I hate to disappoint you. And it IS true that some Catholics seem, like some non-Catholics, to view their clergy with misplaced awe.
But the Catholics I talk to will piously and reverently receive the Sacrament from the hands of a priest (or bishop) they think very little of personally.
For them (and I'm one of them) it's not the guy, it's what God is doing through the guy.

Good. I thought we agreed about that.
I don’t know that a Pentecostal would receive communion from someone they knew to be in gross sin. Some probably would. Many wouldn’t.
Why would that disappoint me?
