I appreciate the comments on eschatology. I think I understand your perspective better now.
Yes, I think a LOG of Scriptures either are or might be BOTH/AND. I still can’t remotely see Mary in the Revelation stuff by a trillion miles.
I also think the business about being challenged on Mary etc. leaves y’all talking about Mary more only travels a certain limited distance.
Just take 6 months of the listings of threads in the Religion Forum. Count the number of thread titles referring to Mary in some form vs all the other RC thread titles.
THAT SHOULD SHOCK any insightful religionist of any flavor.
Our Proddy Vulcan Mind Meld stays chronically broken. We have no power to force RC’s to post thread titles we’d favor. Actually, it seems like they delight in posting thread titles to bait and outrage us, instead. So whatever thread titles mention Mary are y’all’s ‘free choice.’ We don’t accept the blame at all.
Still we get threads about such stuff as . . . the fantasized magnificence of
—Mary’s latest HEAVENLY OFFICE AND FUNCTION;
—the latest polishing job on Mary’s halo;
—the latest amplification in Mary’s capacity to save all mankind, all ET’s, all critters, all distant planets and multi-verses;
—the latest polishing job on Mary’s perfections;
—the latest polishing job on Mary’s birth; Mary’s parents’ brith . . . ad nauseum back to Adam;
—the latest rationalization for Mary’s bossing hubby Holy Spirit around and taking over his job of drawing folks to Christ;
—etc. etc. etc.
And STILL y’all want us to believe that YOUR FOCUS IS REALLY Jesus!
We’re not that gullible.
We’re not even that dumb.
We’re certainly not that stupid.
On saints days the antiphon for the Invitatory Psalm is along the lines of "The Lord is glorious in His saints: Come let us adore him."
On martyr days: "Come let us worship Christ, the King of martyrs."
On "Mary-type" days the antiphon is "Come, let us worship Christ, the Son of Mary" or "Come, let us sing to the Lord as we celebrate this feast [or day] of the Blessed Virgin Mary."
And so on. Yeah, I think people can miss the point. But that doesn't make the point bad.
