The problem the Catholics have is that there are too many of us who were born into the Catholic church, raised in it, catechized in it, and have taught in it.

We KNOW what the ROMAN Catholic churches we attended taught. We know what we believed, what our Catholic relatives believe, what our Catholic co-workers believe, and what our Catholic classmates believe, and there’s far more consistency among all of them, than there are on FR.

What most of the FRoman Catholics claim the Catholic church *really* teaches, is usually not what the hundreds of practicing Roman Catholics I know believe.

Those Catholics on this forum who attack us for misrepresenting the Catholic church and lying about it and spreading lies about it are way more out of touch with mainstream Catholicism than they claim we are.

"... out of touch with mainstream Catholicism"

Those on the threads are way way beyond those I have spoken with. At one time there were about five or more in the dpt. I worked...and four of us who were Protestant or Evangelical. We could talk about the faith and our beliefs quite distinctly and with understanding of what each was discussing. Great fellowship when the day was close to ending. The catholics would listen to us but could not participate well at all. They spoke of Mass but when you asked them questions about it they had no answers and would scurry away then.

I was astounded when one particular woman, who frequently spoke of her many times at mass and church attendance...asked me "What does born again mean". ...the other gals, I would learn later, began praying..we all knew what that question revealed. The Lord entered that discussion as she was explained of Nicodemus asking that very question etc. It was a thrilling moment for us all.

So yes, most do not know what they believe apart from the words they repeat they are indoctrinated to remember. But they have little understanding of what those words mean.

"We KNOW what the ROMAN Catholic churches we attended taught."

Then why are you so thoroughly and consistently wrong about what the Church teaches? Where else could one who failed the elementary school level classes claim to possess knowledge in excess of the greatest scholars and intellectual giants of all time.

Exactly! However, when I read the words 'you don't know' - I laugh. They have NO idea what/who I know. But that's not the point - the point is - that's a cop out when they can't defend the indefensible.

There is only so much TRUTH some Catholics can take - then they go into 'thin skin' mode and ACCUSE, ATTACK and "quietly" use the 'personal' relief.

Then you get "where's the Scripture for that"; meanwhile they are more led by church doctrine that Scripture. You know - that church doctrine - that no one knows but them. ;)
