Well, we think so. We think God takes the first step, as do you. (and the second, AND the third, and, well, pretty much all the steps.)
And we think Baptism imparts (though usually only in germ) objective grace. I have baptized a 2.5 months premature baby — who lived! And a couple of years ago I got to watch her get married! I cried, but in a manly way, of course.
That one so little would live is truly a miracle.
God is so good to allows us to see His Word revealed so that we may know Him, love Him and serve Him.
