I think that one way to look at it, as though we were from mars and not involved is that “you guys” put a lot of the affect on the Bible that we put on the Sacraments.

I THINK THAT’S A VERY APT OBSERVATION.
However, there’s still other differences.
Certainly in Jr High, High School and Univ when I often slept with my Dixon Bible as a teddy bear . . . GOD’S WRITTEN WORD was a precious lifeline between God and I.
And, I even had some reverence for the book itself.
However, I did not really worship it nor even come close. That would have been offensive to me and to my Lord.
I have known Christians who did worship the book. In one church for 3 months, one gal was advised to not read her Bible. I thought that was an extreme exhortation but in her case, it was probably warranted. She knew it by heart pretty well anyway.
I think for most Proddys, Scripture IS THE LIVING WORD—CHRIST JESUS.
Certainly for Pentecostals, that is the case. We expect to HEAR HIS VOICE when reading Scripture and otherwise.
Great observation.
