On a related note, I got the distinct feeling during the days leading up to the execution of Terri Schiavo, that many of the newbies who descended on the threads and called for her death were probably Scientologists. Their postings contained some of the classic jargon and gnostic rantings favored by this cult.

So, yes, who knows who these individuals really are, protected by the anonymity of their screen names, and hurling insults and anathemas nonstop at the Church? I find it interesting that some of them are here all day long and into the night. Must not have to work or anything...

It’s difficult at times. I have stated my religion on my home page, and I think that it would be helpful if others would do the same. At least then we’d have an idea of the perspective of the other person, a sort of jumping off point.

Of course, some might choose to mis-identify themselves, but that’s impossible to prevent.
