Stop making this personal.

"I realize this is foreign to most Roman Catholics who spend their Sundays on their knees contemplating their own good works; ignorantly praying to dead people; venerating Mary as a "co-redeemer;" and most egregiously of all, partaking in the blasphemy they call the eucharist which is nothing more than "another Christ" ignoring the teaching of Hebrews by offering what he wrongly presumes to be Christ again for new sins committed which, in fact, is a charade of true Christianity and an affront to Jesus Christ who has not been brought down from heaven to be served up again like yesterday's pork roast, but who, after having paid the total price for all the sins of His flock, now resides in heaven where He sits making His enemies such as Rome his footstool.

I personally find this very personally insulting and denigrating.

I also find it very sad indeed, and though I do not presume to speak for Jesus, I can't help but feel He does as well.

“And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head” (Matthew 27:29-30).

17And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head, 18And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! 19And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him. 20And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. Mark 15:17-20 (King James Version)

29And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, 30Save thyself, and come down from the cross. 31Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. 32Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him. Mark 15:29-32(King James Version)

35 The people stood watching, and even the leaders kept scoffing: "He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is God's Messiah, the Chosen One!" 36 The soldiers also mocked Him. They came offering Him sour wine 37 and said, "If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!" 38 An inscription was above Him: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS 39 Then one of the criminals hanging there began to yell insults at Him: "Aren't You the Messiah? Save Yourself and us!" (Luke 23:35-39)

Matthew 5:11-12 (King James Version) 11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. (Mt 5:11-12)

Though, please, worry not for me and my feelings, I consider myself to be in good company:)

BZZZ! Time for a refresher course on the FR RF rules.

It is not "making it personal" to criticize beliefs, practices or ideologies of other faiths.

It is "making it personal" to criticize another FReeper by name, specifically, thus diverting the discussion from the abstract to the personal.

Therefore it is within the rules to say "Mariology is one dangerous shard of anti-Scriptural blasphemy," but we cannot say "you, Jvette, are a fruitloop."

Learn the rules. They're not difficult and they help keep the conversation calm and informative.

St. Stephen had to endure much; our experiences at the hands of these pagans are only metaphorical stonings, not literal ones.
