...the RC Sunday service recites a line here and there from the Bible. However, there is no solid preaching from the Scriptures. There is no sermon where the word of God is taught and appreciated.

One-hundred percent WRONG! There is a 3-year cycle of Sunday readings from the Old Testament and the epistles and Gospels. Three readings at each Sunday Mass, and they are not a "line or two", but substantial readings, each consisting of several paragraphs.
The priest is also expected to focus his homily on the readings, and most priests do. I don't know what church you attended Mass at, and if the priest is not discussing the Word, that's not right. The priests I'm familiar with all give excellent, in-depth sermons on the Scripture readings and relate them to the Christian life.

Catholics don't adore anyone but God. We do not adore Mary, and you know that.

I suppose the remarks may be true somewhere, but not in any church I've been to (well, maybe one) since I swam the Tiber. Sometimes I feel like at Bible class.

Today we had the most wonderful little homily looking at Martha's exchange with IHS when He comes to Bethany because Lazarus has died. And since the OT reading was Jeremiah's visit to the potter, it was good to be told we were in the hands of a God eager to remake us into creatures of Faith.

I get to hear wonderful sermons.
