I doubt being open, vulnerable and honest is likely to be dumb in very many contexts.

Certainly there is a place for wisdom as a guide.

Hereon, I think that kind of openness, honesty and vulnerability was far from dumb.

You are not at your best when you are at your most cynical, imho.

There can be a time for . . . accurately calling cynicism for what it is . . . and probably even for being cynical in some contexts.

There is not a time for letting cynicism pollute one’s heart.

IF BY CYNICAL WE MEAN HAVING A BRUTALLY CANDID APPRECIATION FOR THE TRUE FACTS OF A BAD-FAITH SATURATED SITUATION OR PERSPECTIVE.
