I guessed you missed the woman who was healed by merely touching the cloak Jesus wore.
Or in Acts 19 where it says that objects that had touched Pauls skin were brought to the sick and they were healed. One thing that I would suppose to be fairly important to observe is that both Jesus and Paul were very much ALIVE at the time.
Relics are as old as the faith.
And tourist traps are far older than that.

IT is my belief as well as that of the Church that both are still alive as are all the saints who have passed from this life to the new life with Jesus.
Eternal life, a promise made by Jesus to those who believe in Him, means just that.
It is resurrection of the body, not of the soul that the New Testament assures us will happen upon the coming of Jesus when there will be a new heaven and earth.
