Her consent was given FREELY. Mary of her own free will chose to accept God's loving plan for our salvation. God took the initiative, of course, as He does in all matters of grace, but Mary was not forced or constrained in any way to cooperate with Him. She did so with complete freedom.
It's very telling that you place the word in quotation marks.
