Many of us say, “I prayed to St. Anne,” or whoever, when we mean we invoked that person’s help to pray to Jesus for us. Many others misunderstand our meaning. We know only God can be adored, and only He can answer prayers.

But then you are asking an entity to intercede for you at worst, or at least imagining that a departed individual will hear you. They can’t, they have gone to the other side. Besides why would you want someone lesser than Christ to assist when you have direct access to Him yourself?
