Confessional Lutheran doctrine is based upon Scripture that hasn't wandered anywhere.

Unfortunately, many groups that label themselves Lutheran have wandered far, far away from Scripture.

I am aware of some of Brother Martin's opinions that are not incorporated into that Confession, but not 'teachings' whatever they may be.

I'll concede that point.

Yes, many of those left the Confessions a long time ago also.

I suspect they left them first actually, though that might be a close thing. The problem with many Lutheran synods is the same problem with the Roman Catholic church in many dioceses. People and leaders chose to be comfortable rather than holy.

The sad thing is those people often get into leadership positions.
