Given the vast convolutions and thousands of permutations of the Vatican dogmas, perspectives, slants, nuances, interpretations

that perspective and attitude appear to be more than a LOT hypocritical to the max.

I have nothing to repent of. On the contrary, anyone who spreads errors about the truth of the Eucharist is the one who needs to repent.

And the stuff after the Gospels was said by someone else, not Christ.

The Holy Spirit ....

AT LEAST PRODDYS HAVE LABELS FOR THE DIFFERENT DENOMINATIONS, CONGREGATIONS.

Within the Vatican system, all the huge number of diverse interpretations of dogma etc. don't even have labels as groups.

On the other hand, there's 100's of labels or more for all manner of exclusivist elitest haughty IN-GROUP emphasizing hogwash.

Fastinating, that contrast.

Given the vast convolutions and thousands of permutations of the Vatican dogmas, perspectives, slants, nuances, interpretations

that perspective and attitude appear to be more than a LOT hypocritical to the max.

I understand.

Pray for God to deal them them. Then . . .

I say leave em to God.

I’d rather leave the State out of it with all the hazards that entails.

At least the state pretends to follow rule of law and legal precedent with some type of standards. Religious institutions follow no standards and have no accountability.

Judith Anne. We ARE replying to your posts. WITH SCRIPTURE. That's the beauty of the internet. The reply is to you, but anyone anywhere can read it. I know it is not always just the red words that we post, but it is scripture. Now, if you would care to post with actual truth, it would go MILES to helping lurkers understand your position and beliefs.

BTW, if you would rather post where your traditions are specifically stated instead of scripture, please do. NOthing says 'I don't care' more than just stating your opinion, followed up by absolutely NOTHING.

"For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God." (Romans 10:2,3).

Believe it or not, it's not about YOU. You seem to have happily cast your lot. It's about LURKERS and others whose eyes are opening and they know something is wrong, but haven't quite yet figured it all out. It's about those who are SEEKING the truth. Those who need the Word of God to show them the truth, and the way out of darkness.

Wow! Thanks for explaining that. It's about all of those Catholic FReepers who have come forward and said, "I have been so impressed by the anti-Catholic bigotry on FR that I am becoming a "real" Christian, I'm burning all of my papist stuff can't wait until they let me hold the rattlesnakes." Just curious, can you direct me to a SINGLE Catholic FReeper who has EVER decided to quit the Church based on what they learned here? And so we're clear, I'm not talking about the legion of "former" Catholics (many of whom are probably lying), I mean a FReeper who clearly posted as a Catholic and then quit.

That is fascinating. And disturbing. And sadly consistent. No wonder 54% of U.S. Roman Catholics voted for Obama. They like him.

It's ironic that a conservative website would have a forum dominated by a liberal church. We can only hope that the conservatives in it will change the organization's culture, but I'm not hopeful. They reject the absolute authority of Scripture and instead believe their hierarchy has that power, not unlike liberals wanting govt to have absolute power.

I'm reminded of this authors beautiful testimony and the response to it.

Bible in hand, I proclaimed that "the absolute and final authority in all matters of faith and morals is the Bible, God's own Word."

Three days later, the archbishop of Vancouver, B.C., James Carney, called me to his office. I was then officially silenced and forbidden to preach in his archdiocese.

Could have been a dozen or more reasons . . .

Wisecracks pass for reason in some quarters, I guess.

Actually, there are FReepers who have entered the Church over the years, at least in part because of Catholic apologetics, but also because they saw how bankrupt the belief system was of the anti-Catholic bigots.

Let the anti-Catholic nutters rave. In the end, that too serves the Lord.

METMOM AT POST 610: Every time Jesus encountered that mindset, He condemned it and responded with *It is written....*.

OK, Let's deal with it.

1. Either it is 100% true or 99% true or less true or 100% false. Please show by evidence which level of truth you believe it to be.

2. Let's say there's 1-2 times when it wasn't true or wasn't strongly true. That would leave . . . what . . . several to several dozen times [depending on how things were defined] when it WAS TRUE.

3. OK, Let's say metmom would admit she didn't examine every instance but spoke from a human memory. I think you'd have some sympathy for that phenomenon by the truck loads.

4. IT REMAINS TRUE THAT CHRIST SAYING SUCH A THING !!!!ONCE!!!! IS SUFFICIENT TO TRASH THE VATICAN PERSPECTIVE WHOLESALE. Saying it a 2nd time doubles the emphasis. Saying it a 3rd time multiplies it again. Saying it a 4th time multiplies it again. If He said it 90% of the time or 99% of the time, your nitpicking comes up extremely shabby indeed.

5. CHRIST--CREATOR GOD--STANDING THERE FACE TO FACE WITH THE RELIGIOUS EXPERTS

APPEALED AS !!!!A POINT OF AUTHORITY!!!! TO SCRIPTURE! NO AMOUNT OF SLIPPERY BUREAUCRATIC MAGICSTERICAL POLITICAL POWER-MONGERING WEASELY DIPLO-SPEAK CAN WIGGLE WAGGLE OUT OF THAT ONE.

However, it's a bit humorous in a pathetical sort of way, to watch y'all try.

Yep, it couldn't possibly be that the Church Fathers AGREED with him.

Yeah I know that, I'm just interested to see what they provide as proof to the contrary.
