This is no proof that ALL truth is in Scripture, merely that ALL Scripture is true and beneficial for man’s salvation.

A belief that Catholics share, BTW.

I would add that a thing is true because God said it.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. - Genesis 1:3

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. - Psalms 33:6

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. [There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard. – Psalms 19:1-3

This is why God cannot lie. When He says a thing, it is. Time, causality, creatures etc. are irrelevant to the Creator of them. No thing and no one can thwart the will of God.

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; - Titus 1:2

And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to [our] father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. - Matthew 3:9

And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. – Luke 19:40

And again,

The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. – Psalms 12:6-7

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it. - Isaiah 55:11

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. - Matthew 5:18

Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: - Isaiah 46:9-10

The great risk the Catholic Church takes is in elevating tradition to be equal to the words of God.

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish [ought] from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. - Deut 4:2

Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men. - Mark 7:7

Nevertheless, Christians should not worry about the traditions of men; we are secure because we abide in Him:

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. - John 15:4-5

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. - Romans 8:9

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. – I John 2:27

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. - Colossians 3:3

To God be the glory, not man, never man.

My plans were to send my family/friends THE ARTICLE alone but your suggestion to archive it - made me think - to send the responses, also. These are people who haven’t questioned what the RCC is about. They attend mass and follow rituals. They don’t know why, it’s a ‘because that’s the way it is’ and just went along like so many others have done.

They were born into it and I know how that is. But they are bright and, when shown, will see the deception. NOT to see one would have to totally dependent on man - like a liberal who RELIES on man to guide them and happy to drink the kool-aid and bow.

Faith in God’s Word alone and what HE says, void of our own human understanding. Truly, it doesn’t come naturally, we MUST renew our minds daily. Without faith we are not pleasing to God - when HE says we must renew our minds - HE knows. Otherwise, our natural minds takes over and the natural man CANNOT understand the Supernatural.

By Sunday, I believe many of them will be free from this cult. Since two have already started to question the Mary thing when I say ‘It’s all about Jesus’; when they see what you posted from ‘that book’ - it will be a slam dunk.

Thank you for all you have exposed. So many many Christian freepers have contributed GREATLY to this thread - and we are ALL on the same page. ONE GOD, HIS WORD ALONE for HIS Church contrasted with the RCC’s heretic teachings - it’s quite apparent the RCC has created their own belief system.

Even if their parish priest doesn’t apply all the RCC teachings for obvious reasons - they need to see what they are associated with. And that won’t go down smoothly for many.

Time is short and they know it. It’s now time for them to take seriously their own soul and not the things of this world. A few short years here is a blip on the screen compared to eternity. Giving ‘man’ authority over one’s final destiny is spiritual suicide. God equipped us perfectly for this life (which determines our afterlife) with HIS WORD ALONE and The HOLY SPIRIT. We are to do things HIS WAY and never ‘man’s’ way. The article describes the back and forth of how hard it is to let go but his desire to get it ‘right’ through perseverance paid off.

Thanks, again, Quix. And for the ‘mascot’ that explained perfectly what some of us are/was thinking. One picture can say it all.

Soon many will be proclaiming - “I AM FREE”. The reason why Jesus came, died and arose for - for us to claim victory over evil in this life and be with HIM forever. And that is the GOOD NEWS we are to preach. ‘It is FINISHED’! THANK YOU, JESUS, our SAVIOR! Thank YOU God for YOUR WORD.

Mary is also the Mediatrix of ALL Grace.

This is how Marian devotion works, IMHO:

(1)Jesus Himself is the perfection and summation of ALL the Grace of God.
(2)Mary "brought" Jesus to us, as the intermediary between God and parturition.
(3) Therefore etc.

I am going to try a little more in an answer to smvoice.

That would depend on what the good is. If the good isn’t really good then it should be thrown out. Just because a conclusion is valid from a set of premises doesn’t necessarily imply Truth if there are other hidden premises.

Unless we are exceedingly old and veterans of a great number of extremely intense fiery furnaces . . . we all still tend to have an overabundance of silly notions

Take this, all of you, and eat it: this is my body which will be given up for you.

Take this, all of you, and drink from it: this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for many so that sins may be forgiven.

So you guys really DO pretend to kill and sacrifice Jesus anew...

1Co 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Body, WHICH IS BROKEN for you...

I use to think they all were suppose to be on the same page with Rome but that doesn’t seem to be the case after all.

Generally, I think they are all on the same page. They just don't admit it. Instead they say whatever they think the argument calls for to win a point against a Protestant.

They say Scripture is God's word, but they don't really trust it. They say Christ saved His sheep, but they don't really believe it. They say they don't worship Mary, but their actions prove otherwise.

And they all know exactly what they're doing. They want to believe Mary is their co-redeemer; they just don't want to be judged by anyone for that belief.

The funniest thing about the RCC is that it considers itself to be an intellectual faith based on reason and sound judgment. Nothing could be further from the truth. Scripture proves the lie.

If she must have a title, I prefer "Mother of the Incarnate Word" because it requires no footnotes.

Arius preferred "Mother of the Incarnate Word" and look at all the trouble HE caused!

"Mother of God" slammed the door shut on the Christological heresies that were rampant at the time. Contemplating that truth leads us to the full understanding of Who Jesus is.

nowhere is Mary said to be free from inherited sin or the subject of some invention called “preventive grace”.

Exactly! If it's not in The Word - you make it up and make it a truth - that's the RCC way. Let's see what Jesus has to say...

"As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you."

Jesus replied, "But even MORE BLESSED are ALL who HEAR the Word of God and OBEY IT".

The RCC doesn't let JESUS' own Words get in the way of their teachings.

Thanks again for reminding me how great the scourge of modern ignorance is.

That you have never seen “raw flesh with blood on it” taken into anyone’s mouth at Communion is entirely consistent with the doctrine of transubstantiation, a doctrine which seems greatly misunderstood, to judge by some posts here.

My question to someone who would say this is.... Why, WHY, did Jesus say these words? Why did He say that one must eat His flesh and drink His blood? The prohibition against cannibalism was well known.

And can you explain this....,When the two disciples encountered Jesus on the road to Emmaus, as told in Luke, after hearing them speak of the events in Jerusalem, Jesus then "interprets to them the things about himself in all the Scriptures", yet it is not until the "blessing and breaking of the bread" that their eyes were opened and they recognized him. They are amazed and say to each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the Scriptures to us?"

They did not recognize Jesus, until He was present in the Eucharist, though their hearts were on fire as He spoke Scripture to them. Sound like anyone we know here?

Actually, you slip it over your finger and as you say each prayer, you move the ring around one knob at a time. You start your prayers with God (Nicene or Apostles Creed followed by the Pater Noster) and you finish each set of prayers with God (The Doxology). Rather Christian, if I may say so myself. :)

Of course you might miss your exit, cause an accident, or otherwise become a hazard to all others who share the road with you. :-) or :-(
