Apparently the magick practiced in his church also permits the RC apologist to gaze into crystal balls as well as break the FR RF rules.

Applying a label to a concept is not creating the concept.

The so called early church fathers didn’t pull it out of thin air. They had to get it from somewhere and they obviously got it from Scripture, the same Scripture that so many Catholics today fail to recognize as authoritative.

Psst, don’t forget to answer these inquiries.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/religion/2554678/posts?page=3636#3636

Especially this one.... (MarkBsnr)”I understand that just like the Muslims, Calvinists believe that it is okay to lie to others who are not of their faith. The 10 Commandments don’t apply to non Calvinists - okay we get that. “

And you got it from where exactly?

Lots of us do know what the Catholic church really teaches (been there, done that)

That's as may be, but of those who make the loudest claims to know because they are apostates there are many who did not even know about married Catholic priests.

They thought celibacy was doctrine instead of discipline. And when they were told it was discipline they scoffed at the idea and tried to shuffle it off on recent changes though it's been true for hundreds of years that some married men can become priests.

So, I hear the claims, I look at what they say, and I know the claims are not to be believed.

Most Catholics expect to suffer for quite some time IF they are going to heaven. Most acknowledge that they expect more than a reasonable chance of going to hell. Purgatory is the best virtually all the ones I’ve ever met hope for.

How sad to think that all the suffering of Christ on the cross and His death was not good enough to secure for them eternity in heaven.

Very sad. Thank God we have not so learned Christ.

"For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." -- Romans 8:6-11

No wonder they have to dismiss Paul; he contradicts Rome time after time.

The question then becomes do they not know the security of salvation because Christ is not in them, or is their blindness temporary?

God willing, the latter.

Actually, I think Mad Dawg

is pretty honorable about himself and his place in life and the life of his church. i.e. candid and honest. I realize you and I differ on our perspectives about such things.

However, I must call things as I see them from my perspective.

And, I appreciate MD’s candor and humanness. It still boggles me that he can justify and put up with so much of the Marian and other Vatican related hogwash. However, I still believe he has an authentic relationship with God AND THAT GOD IS ABLE TO SHOW HIM, IN GOD’S TIME, whatever God wants to show him about such horrors. We shall see.

Anyway—I didn’t really see that particular example as one of MD patting himself on the back as much as just being vulnerable, open and honest. And I persistently applaud that sort of thing wherever I see it—particularly in Christianity.

but it doesn’t change the fact that hidden from your eyes there are Catholics to whom the heavenly Father, the Divine Savior Jesus and the Comforter, Holy Spirit mean everything to them and they live it as a 24-hour relationship.

I have no doubt that is true. I don’t know for what %

I applaud them and wish to avoid hindering their walk with God in any way. I don’t write to or for them.

I write to and for those for whom THE ABOVE IS NOT true.

It is clear there are more than several of those running around loose.

Debate is one thing.

However your Religeon Mod is bias.

I like this thread for the sharing.

However the nonstop play around the rules of the Ping List (see above) is really intrusive to those who want an honest debate/sharing of ideas.

The Religeon Mode has failed.

Okay, flogging myself to make an answer before I collapse here:

I have, in justice to resist tacitly or explicitly agreeing that ‘my side’ has a monopoly on nastiness. Whoever is currently winning, though, it is hard to imagine that those who justify their posting style because they are playing to the lurkers REALLY think the lurkers are edified by this sort of thing.

And besides, I have all I can do to remember myself to apply to God’s mercy for the strength to avoid disgracing myself. I can’t moderate “my side.” I leave that to God and then bumble on as best I can.

As to coming crises. I make sure I have food, water, ammo, and some knapsacks ready to go, and I commit it all the IHS. There’s nothing to be gained by worrying about tomorrow when “sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (I often say that is the smartest thing Jesus ever said.)

I think it is good to avoid jerks, and even those who strike one as jerks. It’s a step forward to be ‘done’ with those who stir us to anger and all that, I think. Even if it turns out to be a flaw in our perception, if hanging around leads to sin, then leaving is not a retreat, it’s a tactical withdrawal.

Aeschylus said (quoted by Heidegger) “There are many things that are strange, but none more strange than man.” And as long as I’m strutting my stuff, there’s an implication in Heidegger’s “Introduction to Metaphysics” that the important questions are not the ones we ask, but the ones that ask us. (He then goes on to say a lot of stuff about how Christians can’t be philosophers, because we think we have the answer. But there he errs. We pray the answer has us, and rejoice when we discern Him in the process of transforming us from dead things to living sons — even if it hurts.)

Thank you for your good wishes. May God never leave me, may He always direct my heart and my mind towards Him. May He not allow me to turn away from whatever he wants me to see.

And, come to think of it, I pray the same for you.

ZZZZzzzzz.

Since you have been less than truthful on so many occasions and so many subjects and have gone to such extreme lenghts to construct an argument through confabulations and falsehoods

I've just about had it with being called a liar on this thread over and over and over, to the ludicrous point where I'm called a liar because I said I've attended RC church services (my in-laws are RC.)

I can certainly understand why you appear so lonely and bitter.

If that isn't "making it personal," what is?

Are RC apologists trying to get the thread locked?

What is your point? The Religion Mod works harder than anyone on this forum to bring about a calm and honest exchange of ideas.

The only rule-breaking on this thread has been RC apologists incessantly calling people names.

Did you even bother to see why I made that comment? Natural Law and MarkBsnr have been accusing me of being a "liar" because I said I was a bridesmaid in three Roman Catholic weddings.

Do you think that's something someone would lie about?

Some people can't discuss the issues, so they have to slander those in the discussion.
