Catechesis, especially in the United States, has been particularly horrid these last 30 years or so. The sad fact is that many self-designated “ex-Catholics” had been poorly taught about their faith.

Catechesis, especially in the United States, has been particularly horrid these last 30 years or so. No ... it's not just here. Consider this in Belgium or this in Austria. The problem is worldwide, not just in the US.
