Part 1:  Aztec, New Mexico - Was Disc Taken to
Building 828 in Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio?

August 13, 2010  Rochester, New York - In 1948, Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio, merged with Patterson Field to become Wright-Patterson AFB. Three years later on May 21, 1951, the USAF established the Air Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC) that changed again in 1961 to the Foreign Technology Division (FTD). Also created in 1961 was the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) that has been linked by many government and military insiders to TOP SECRET missions related to non-human intelligences interacting with Earth. U. S. Army Lt. Col. Philip J. Corso wrote in his 1997 book, The Day After Roswell, that he saw himself at least one non-human body at Fort Riley, Kansas, en route from retrieval at a 1947 crash site near Roswell, New Mexico, to Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio.

By 1958, one of the secretaries in ATIC was enjoying a birthday party with her colleagues on the second floor of a Wright-Patterson AFB building directly above a railroad track. During the party, there was a loud noise outside and everyone hurried to the windows to see what had happened. The surprising details were described to me in a recent phone call on August 8, 2010, from a technical illustrator who used to work for Kodak, Friden, Inc., General Dynamics and Wright-Patterson AFB. He has asked for anonymity to protect his family, but he agreed I could tell his story and call him John Smith.

Mr. Smith is now 79-years-old and has lived in the Rochester, New York, area for forty-five years with his wife. He did not go to college after high school graduation in 1949, but eventually applied his creative sketching ability to work as a technical illustrator. He told me, “Between 1950 to 1954, I worked in a Kodak plastic department. Then a job opening to illustrate parts manuals came from Friden Inc. in Rochester, New York, that manufactured Flexowriters. I worked there from July 1956 until 1960, drawing parts manuals. In October 1958, we received a list of people coming to Friden for class instructions about the Flexowriter. I helped make the name tags and distributed them.”

[ Editor’s Note:  Wikipedia - The Friden Flexowriter was a teleprinter, a heavy duty electric typewriter that could simultaneously transfer keystrokes from one site to a distant site.]

Two of the name tags said “Air Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC), Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio.” That caught Mr. Smith's attention because of an encounter he and a young friend had with strange aerial lights when they set out on a double date in December 1950.


Interview:

“John Smith,” former Friden, Inc., Technical Illustrator, Rochester, New York:  “In 1950, I was 19-years-old and was working as a printer in Bond’s Clothing on Goodman Street. There I met a gentleman from Sweden who along with me had decided to go on a double date to Batavia, New York, to pick up a couple of young ladies who were waiting for us to go out on the town in Rochester, have a good time, and the return the girls to Batavia. That was in the winter of 1950 just before the turn of the New Year to 1951 after Christmas.

On the way up there, I remember distinctly it was about 10 degrees F. above zero - so cold! We were driving a 1950 Chevrolet and it only had a gas heater in it and we were nearly freezing ourselves. We had agreed to meet the girls at Aunt Mary’s Candy Store in Batavia.

En route around 7:00 PM, we suddenly saw in the sky on Route 33 A - which was the only route that you could take to Batavia at that time – there were two lights in the sky that appeared to be from a motor-driven aircraft, either a DC-3 or the new Convair that had just come out. These lights shone right on us and lit up the entire car as the object passed over us. And then the aerial craft came down in a field to the left of us that had a silo and a rather large barn. We could see because the stars and moon were out.

Suddenly those two lights went out, but two other huge lights the size of dinner plates stayed on and hung above the ground.

WHAT COLOR WAS THE LIGHT SHINING INTO YOUR CAR?

Originally it was white light that came in and lit the car up like daylight. We thought that was unusual, but we actually thought we were going to see an airplane crash. So, when this thing flew over the top of us, it stopped! Two, huge lights that appeared like dinner plates in the sky separated by maybe 10 to 15 feet were some distance from us across the field.

SO THEN YOU KNEW THE OBJECT WAS NOT A CRASHING AIRPLANE BECAUSE IT HAD THE ABILITY TO STOP STATIONARY IN THE SKY AND BRING ON THE TWO, LARGE, WHITE LIGHTS?

Yes, and those two big lights turned color. They turned from white to a ring of orange and then another color in the center. Then we thought it must be a helicopter. What else could it be? Remember this was 1950 and that’s all I could think of.

The fellow who was driving – his name was Simon Creson. He was a refugee from Germany who worked also at Bond’s Clothing where I worked. As the lights on the aerial object changed color, I asked Simon to stop and he did. I got out of the car and I was only outside for a minute when I began really freezing. But suddenly, one of the lights to the left just shot away like a bullet and went into the distance quite a ways. Then it came back in an undulating movement, up and down, and joined into the other light as one. They became one light and still hovered near the silo and barn that were easily discernible in the distance about a thousand feet off the road.

Then the lights very slowly moved away in the same undulating manner that the other light had come back to the first one. Then they were gone. We were astonished that the craft did not crash and we heard no noise. It was soundless.

I got back in the car and Simon Creson asked, ‘What were those things?’ I said,  ‘Beats me. I have no idea, but I’ve never seen anything like that before.’

We went on to Batavia. We thought we were right on time because he and I looked at our watches when we went through Rochester to Route 33A to pick up the girls. But they were not where they were supposed to be. We began looking for them and found the girls had moved away from Aunt Mary’s Candy Store and gone into another place to get warm. Then we all had a big argument about why we were so late. We said we were not late at all. But the girls said, ‘Just look at the clock up there.’ The clock on the steeple in town showed we were fifteen minutes late.

We reset our watches by turning the hands fifteen minutes ahead. Then we went on to the Helendale Inn in Rochester. There we had a couple of drinks and continued to talk and discovered that the girls had also seen strange lights come over the city of Batavia where they both lived and were friends. That’s when we noticed that all the clocks in Rochester also were on the same time as Batavia, which was 15 minutes faster than our watches and the little clock in our car had been after our encounters with the lights. Something had affected our watches and the car clock. We didn’t know what it was.

IT IS AS IF YOUR WATCHES STOPPED DURING FIFTEEN MINUTES, DID NOT MOVE, WHILE SOMETHING HIGHLY UNUSUAL HAPPENED IN RELATIONSHIP TO THOSE HOVERING AND MOVING LIGHTS. THEN YOU CAME BACK TO A REALITY WHERE CLOCKS AND WATCHES HAD NEVER STOPPED.

SO, AT NINETEEN YOU APPEAR TO HAVE HAD A MISSING TIME EPISODE IN RELATIONSHIP TO THE UNIDENTIFIED LIGHTS. NOW, PLEASE GO TO YOUR HANDING OUT NAME TAGS IN 1958 AT FRIDEN, INC., TO THE FLEXOWRITER STUDENTS.

I was 27-years-old in 1958 and by then, I had read a book by George Adamski about his experiences with flying saucers and other articles about discs and lights and Roswell and Wright-Patterson. I began to wonder if there was some kind of electromagnetic affect from the strange lights on our watches. Those aerial lights might have stopped our watches and our car clock and then started them again with the loss of fifteen minutes when we got to Batavia.

That's why while distributing the name tags for class sessions at Friden, Inc, in 1958, I noticed the two cards that said Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio. One of those women was going to lunch at the same time every day with her friend who was in military uniform. On that particular day, she came back alone and I asked her, ‘Is there anything that you can tell me from your work at Wright-Patterson about strange lights and things in the sky that people have been seeing all over?’

She said, ‘Is there some place we can go to talk where no one else can hear? And do you mind if we go alone?’ She asked that because another illustrator was with me, who is now deceased. I showed her a closet door that led to a rather large technical room she would be going into during her Flexowriter classes.

So, she agreed to go in there and I locked the door. The conversation began something like, ‘One day ten years before in 1948 at Wright Field (soon then to become Wright-Patterson AFB), we were having a birthday party on the second floor of ATIC,’ the intelligence division that would later become the Foreign Technology Division FTD. Some partiers had cameras that apparently were allowed into ATIC at Wright Field in 1948.

She told me that during the birthday party, they had taken some photos of the birthday person and were having a good time when suddenly, a large noise happened outside. So, they immediately opened the blinds to see what happened. The second floor was high enough so you could see the railroad track that ran by the building. She said as they opened the blinds, they saw a translucent vehicle  – at least 30 to 50 feet in diameter – sitting on a train flatcar. The tarpaulin that had apparently been over it had broken loose at the top, exposing the craft. A bunch of military troops were scrambling to reattach the tarp.

The birthday party people on the second floor could see through the vehicle on the train flatcar, which was a great surprise to them. The woman stressed that the craft was not completely transparent, but more translucent where light got into the craft and they could see inside.

The secretary told me that inside the craft were two swivel-looking seats and a console where two, brown-skinned, small men in jump suits sat with their hands embedded in hand prints in the console and John Smith thought the secretary mentioned only four fingers.

She insisted that some people at the birthday party took photographs of the translucent craft and she had even seen a couple of photos. Once the tarp was re-attached, the train began to pull the flatbed with soldiers standing on the train car, probably to make sure the tarp stayed in place.

She said two small men appeared to be sitting at swivel-like chairs, but their hands were mounted on a console and they were moving, so she knew they were alive. Their skin was brownish-grey and they wore a jumpsuit or like a ski suit. The suit covered their whole body and also the top of their heads as a one-piece suit.

COLOR?

Totally black.

WHAT ABOUT THEIR EYES AND NOSE?

She could not see noses or any more features on them, but their eyes did stand out. Their eyes were somewhat large and somewhat slanted and dark in the center surrounded by whites so the black centers stood out as black eyes.

THE FINGERS OF THE BEINGS  WERE EMBEDDED IN THE CONSOLE PANELS THAT ARE IN FRONT OF THE TWO, DARK-SUITED BEINGS?

Yes, and the beings kept their fingers in the console even when they swung around a little bit and looking at each other. That’s when the tarp was finally reattached. Then she and all the other people upstairs at the birthday party watching through the windows saw the train pull away and headed for Wright-Patterson Building 828.

HOW DID THE SECRETARY KNOW THAT THEY TRANSPORTED ON THE TRAIN FLATBED THE TRANSLUCENT CRAFT AND LIVE BEINGS TO BUILDING 828?

That was told to her by another friend, a nurse, who was in on the retrieval of the craft, along with a Sergeant who had also been involved in it. The nurse told her secretary friend that they put the craft in Building 828 and there was a lot of concern around Wright-Patterson that there was contamination. The reason for the concern is that several people who helped with the craft’s retrieval had become ill with flu-like symptoms.
