There is no point in softening the truth to the point of it being ineffective.

There's also very rarely a point in being deliberately offensive in manner. Jesus did it ... but not always.

That in no way changes the fact that when you speak the truth, even in love, someone WILL be offended,

And when "you" speak an outright lie, someone WILL be offended. Note the response on this forum any time Slick Willy or The Big Zero opens his fat yap ...

Most people want to be ‘left alone’ and the Gospel of Christ can be VERY uncomfortable.

Yes ... so can be the preaching of Jihad, or the message of those "nice young men in suits on bicycles". Yes, the latter offend me ... and I respond to their "tracts" with mine. The former would also offend me, but I've never had to deal with them.

And I have never lied about the Gospel, my faith, what I believe as a Christian, Christian History, or Mormonism for that matter.

What do you seem to think I am lying about, if anything?

Actually the message of those ‘nice young men’ is very very comfortable and appealing to those who do not know Christ.

The Gospel of Christ is uncomfortable to those same people.
