I'd invite him to "swim the Tiber", but if he doesn't believe what the CC teaches it would be dishonest of him to join, and dishonest of us to accept him.

As far as I can tell the ONLY belief that Protestants share that distinguishes them from Catholics is the rejection of papal primacy. There are a great many Protestants who hold Marian beliefs that are nearly identical to Catholic beliefs, the same goes for the Eucharist, devotion to saints, etc.

If I am correct, I wonder if some non-Anglican Protestants might not feel welcome among the Orthodox (though the Orthodox rejection of the papacy is not quite as severe as Protestantism's).

Joking aside, I am one of the world's worst swimmers. There are folks who say, "I don't float; I sink."

I actually do sink. Always have. Always will.

(Which makes me more a candidate for Orthodox immersion, doesn't it?)
