Amen...
Is she in her grave right now, awaiting the trumpet call; or is she alive in Heaven?
Oh come on, AB!
If we did THAT, then this thread would be only 150 replies long! ;^)
ROFL!!!
If we did that, this thread would never have been posted.
Anyone who doubts the reality of Original Sin and Man's fallen and sinful nature need only look at this forum to resolve his doubts ...
Do you have a link for that cut and paste?
Well, at least you are attempting to defend that lds teaches that without JS there would be no salvation, I am impressed.
If the Bible is true there was no need for restoration.
If the Bible is not true (IE a lie) and there was need for restoration.
lds can not claim both.
Everything hinges for lds on whether JS told the truth.
Norm, which jesus?
lds leaders teach that lds do not follow the Christ of the Bible.
If the Bible is true then there was no need for restoration.
If the Bible is not true (IE a lie) and then there was need for restoration.
lds can not have both.
It is not possible to follow the Christ of the Bible and lds teachings.
The “restoration” makes the Bible invalid.
As I said three days ago...
...AB, you may note my use of the word "FALLEN"... ;)
Your effort here is appreciated, but reading through the comments so far has provided for a few chuckles as ingrained posting habits are already being made manifest. From questioning who on the religion forum might have voted for Obama, to parsing the religion forum rules, to projecting, to personalizing and internalizing comments which were meant to be generalized; by the time this thread dies, I suspect it will provide a pretty good exhibit of fallen man.
Yes, FRiend ... I do indeed notice it.
Yes, FRiend ... I do indeed notice it.
It's a curious thing. 'Working your way to salvation' is found in a thousand religions. They claim to be different from each other, but the first message in each of them is always the same: Works for salvation.
“You did not accuse me personally of lying;
This is correct.
“you left open the possibility that I might actually believe what I say.”
You may.
“However, your characterization of Mormonism allows you to dismiss whatever I might say on the subject as automatically false.”
Yes, in all likelihood, if you repeat what they told you, it will be totally false.
“You have provided a good example of the fallacy called “poisoning the wells.”
No, what I provided is more closely like Hercules cleaning up King Augeas’ stables by running a river through it!
And that is exactly what mormonism needs - the river of Truth to run through it to carry away all the excrement.
You may want to get some floaties, logo.

“Id like to state for the record that Mormons are indeed followers of Jesus Christ”
And I’d like to add for the record, that the Jesus Christ
you follow isn’t the Jesus Christ of the Bible.
Glad that’s all on the record Normandy!

“But tell me, do you think that today’s Latter-day Saints deserve the reputation of being dishonest?”
Dishonest, when it serves their purposes.
“Or to put it another way, are Latter-day Saints more or less honest than other people? “
I can tell you that most financial frauds have a Utah address.
If you are asking if LDS are less honest than your average non-Christian, I’d say yes. They repeat lies that will land their hearers in hell, if they believe them. They have a complete heretical fantasy world of man-made works and a tale of becoming gods.
The average non-Christian is watching Sex in the City and drinking beer and enjoying life with none of the deception of mormonism.

Assertion
Counter-assertion, often with decorative fonts.
But we already knew we disagreed, so it's really nothing more but a kind of defiant spinning of wheels.
That is an important observation. Protestants see the word "Catholic" as a brand not a description.
