I hope that I have been an example of being kind and polite to all posters I agree and dis-agree with..That is always my intention...I am just a sinner saved by GRACE..Praise be to G-D and hope to show care and love to all G-D’s creation!
We are all *Special* because G-D does not make junk!
Peace and Shalom!

Protestantism does not take that assertion seriously.
Therefore, Protestantism is a deviation from the Truth.
I'm sure there are many holy people who consider themselves protestants (in one form or another), people who truly love Jesus and try to follow him. I cast no aspersions on them. Still, they believe in a set of faith principles which have deviated, to one extent or another, from the Truth. Their rejection of the true meaning of the Eucharist is merely one example of protestantism's deviation from the Truth, but only one is necessary for proof.
God bless you.
Thank you oh so very much, dear brother in Christ, for sharing your insights and testimony!
They HINT at it; just like Satan when the first recorded words from him were: "Did GOD 'really' say..."
MORMONism has NO list of ANY places that the bible is NOT 'translated' correctly.
Well; they DO have the JST - a 'version' of the KJV that GOD told JS to 'translate'.
However; for SOME reason; they do NOT consider it to be SCRIPTURE!!
Go figger!
You are not going to point it out?
"The ridiculous story about the "red horse", and the "black horse", and the "white horse" and a lot of trash that has been circulated about and printed and sent around as a great revelation given by the prophet Joseph Smith, is a matter that was gotten up , I understand, some ten years after the death of the prophet Joseph Smith, by two of our brethren who put together some broken sentences from the prophet they may have heard from time to time and formulated this so-called revelation out of it, and it was never spoken by the prophet in the manner in which they have put it forth. It is simply false: that is all there is to it."
This "prophecy" has never been accepted & has been soundly denounced. NO AUTHORITY OF THE CHURCH HAS EVER SPOKEN IN SUPPORT OF THIS DOCUMENT - NOT ONCE!
You stated "You might be very surprised at what their leaders have taught and what they claim will happen here in the US (white horse prophecy....
Since you are such a self proclaimed expert on LDS, perhaps you can share the exact quotes from the leaders of the church where they have "taught" this doctrine, your words, not mine.
Misleading, misrepresenting? I think most reasonable minds would agree that your statement about what our leaders have taught is patently false. Not the first time, & undoubtedly not the last.
As far as the constitution is concerned, yeah, we believe it was divinely inspired, as do many other Christians.
Now, you'll divert to yet another subject. SOP
I'm now back to capitalism, no more sandbox. Have a great week.
You are not going to point it out?
You are not going to point it out?
You're basically trying to tell us that the words of Jesus Christ don't matter; what really matters is what Paul had to say. you would have them say.
You go ahead and play your game, but don't expect me to be impressed or convinced by it. I prefer my Scriptures unfiltered.
Did Jesus give a call to unity?
Was Jesus afraid to rock the boat?
Our logic on the issue of unity is in need of a facelift.
Again, I must lodge dissent, brother. Jesus said that when the world "sees" our unity, then they believe that God sent Him and that He loves us.
You can all be the Buggman brothers all you want, but if I see you only fighting with each other, then I won't believe in your unity.
I guess we are all just waiting for ANY mormon on these threads to tell us, even just PARTIALLY, what JS learned to be UNTRUE about PRESBYTERIANism of his day.
That's good...If every one likes what you say, You're doing something wrong...
There's so much scripture to back you up that it would take forever to post it all...So I'll just hit on a couple...
Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Psa 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Most folks don't pay attention to what God says in the scripture...But they do pay attention to how it's said...
God didn't raise up a bunch of robots to sound like a programmed drones...That can be attested to by reading what and how the Apostles preached...
Some folks respond to a tack-hammer...Others won't respond unless you use a jack-hammer...
Not suggesting that you use a jack-hammer approach but I know I do...
God uses what He has to work with...
God condemns these so called 'only true religions' in His inspired words...And He expects us to draw them out into the open so they can be proven by the Truth of God's words...Those religions condemn themselves in light of God's Holy Scripture...
Keep up the good work glorifying God and His word...
ping to 1252 and 1253
You have enough to do by going after the REAL heretics: PROTESTANTS!
Care to ACTUALLY point out any that I INTERPRETED?
That's a pretty big list of folks who are doing an AWFUL lot of TALKING about Something they had on their mind at the time.
Does VOLUME somehow win the battle over correctness?
See. that's where I have to disagree. I'm not a Catholic, nor Eastern Orthodox. I was an Evangelical, but now I'm a Messianic Jew and intend to die a Messianic Jew. There will always be theologies, practices, and traditions that divide me from other Christians.
But there will also always be a Spirit that binds us together. If someone is in Yeshua and has received His Spirit, that person and I are brethren--whether we agree or not, whether we like each other or not.
That is Biblical unity. And because of that unity, I have studied with Catholics and semi-regularly visit my parents' church--still wearing my talit and kippah (yarmulke). I am not concerned about whether they eat pork hot dogs when I choose whether to have fellowship with my Sunday brethren, but whether they truly feed on the Bread of Life from Heaven, the Word of God. Have they received the love of the truth?
Too many have not received the love of the truth, and so are destined to be deceived. I have no desire for unity with them, any more than I have a desire for unity with pagans. Messiah came with a sword and divided families against each other for a reason.
The pursuit of truth in love will ultimately result in unity among the truth-lovers (even if they sometimes come to different conclusions). The pursuit of unity as an end to itself will not result in truth.
Shalom.
NO Latter-day Saint is compelled to sustain the General Authorities of the Church. When given the opportunity to vote on the proposition in any of the several conferences held throughout the Church, he may indicate his willingness to sustain them by raising his right hand; he may manifest his opposition in like manner; or he may ignore the opportunity entirely. There is no element of coercion or force in this or any other Church procedure.
However, there is the principle of honor involved in the member's choice. When a person raises his hand to sustain Church leaders as "prophets, seers, and revelators," it is the same as a promise and a covenant to follow their leadership and to abide by their counsel as the living oracles of God. Consequently, any subsequent act or word of mouth which is at variance with the will of the Lord as taught by the leaders of the Church places the sincerity of such person in serious doubt. One could scarcely have claim upon complete integrity, if he raises his hand to sustain the Authorities of the Church and then proceeds in opposition to their counsel.
Any Latter-day Saint who denounces or opposes, whether actively or otherwise, any plan or doctrine advocated by the "prophets, seers, and revelators" of the Church is cultivating the spirit of apostasy. One cannot speak evil of the Lord's anointed and retain the Holy Spirit in his heart.
It should be remembered that Lucifer has a very cunning way of convincing unsuspecting souls that the General Authorities of the Church are as likely to be wrong as they are to be right. This sort of game is Satan's favorite pastime, and he has practiced it on believing souls since Adam. He wins a great victory when he can get members of the Church to speak against their leaders and to "do their own thinking." He specializes in suggesting that our leaders are in error while he plays the blinding rays of apostasy in the eyes of those whom he thus beguiles. What cunning! And to think that some of our members are deceived by this trickery.
The following words of the Prophet Joseph Smith should be memorized by every Latter-day Saint and repeated often enough to insure their never being forgotten:
I will give you one of the Keys of the mysteries of the Kingdom. It is an eternal principle, that has existed with God from all eternity: That man who rises up to condemn others, finding fault with the Church, saying that they are out of the way, while he himself is righteous, then know assuredly, that that man is in the high road to apostasy; and if he does not repent, will apostatize, as God lives. (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 156-157.) |
When our leaders speak, the thinking has been done. When they propose a plan--it is God's plan. When they point the way, there is no other which is safe. When they give direction, it should mark the end of controversy. God works in no other way. To think otherwise, without immediate repentance, may cost one his faith, may destroy his testimony, and leave him a stranger to the kingdom of God.
