If English fails papists, they try Latin. If Latin fails them, they try Greek. If Greek fails them, they just make it up How is that different from cherry-picking verses until one "proves" the desired interpretation? Or, for that matter, interpreting difficult verses by making up what really amounts to a "lawyer's rationalization"?

Bible-believing Christians don't "cherry-pick" verses. Scripture is a totality, and when one verse is confusing or unclear, we study the rest of the Bible to better understand what is being taught.
Context matters, but context does not nullify what the words say.
