I suppose I was simply unaware of the effectiveness the tactic apparently has. I can only judge from experience, and know that sort of blitz witnessing attack has driven many people away from Christ, so am generally against it.

I am certainly not one who goes by the “go along get along” mode of thinking. There are grounds that need to be held, I realize. However I also know that there are ways to fight a battle that are more effective.

Still, in any battle you have multiple units performing multiple duties. I suppose it makes sense that some would stick to the full frontal attack while allow others to focus on the method of educating the masses.

And there are multiple ways of witnessing to the LDS, even what you see on here.

Some are snarky, some are more measured, some are more intellectual and some speak from experience.

In ministry to the LDS there are those that are ‘full frontal attacks’, there are those who are online, those who hand out tracts during their pagents or at temple square, those who have TV shows, those who have radio ministries, those who do research to support others, billboards...

there are the quiet ones who support the vocal ones in prayer. Some are more gentle than others, however you must realize that the standard response of the LDS is to attack ANYONE WHO IN ANY WAY QUESTIONS THEY ARE FULL TRUE CHRISTIANS, OR QUESTIONS THEIR HISTORY OR DOCTRINES (caps for empahsis not yelling).

If you agree with the LDS they are ‘sweeness and light’, but the minute you QUESTION ANYTHING all of a sudden you are an ‘anti’, evil, hatefull, and you are attacked. Several people on these boards were shocked at how their Mormon friends treated them after they started asking simple questions.

You have to have a thick skin to witness actively to the LDS, because you WILL be attacked, even if you are kind gentle and loving.

Mormonism is a hard shell to break, and only God can really reach them, but HOW He reaches them (through us) is done in many different ways.

FWIW, the Christians who ‘got through to me’ were the ones that really, really ticked me off, those who made me mad enough to ‘prove them wrong’. When I discovered they were right about LDS doctrine/history, it made me MORE (not LESS) willing to listen to them about Christ and what the Bible said.
