And I suspect the older Christians spend more time in prayer asking God to lead them wherever He wants them to go, what assembly to join, etc.
The former are self-centered much like children are self-centered whereas the latter are God-centered much like seniors surrender over time.
The former might be inclined to blend in or be subject to peer pressures whereas the latter might be sent to shake things up caring less and less about temporal matters.
Just my "two cents" ...
To God be the glory, not man, never man.
That’s about right Alamo girl...good read too. Thanks.
I suspect young Christians or those just beginning to take spiritual root probably do a lot of “shopping around” for just the right church to match their own musings of the way things oughta be.

That was in no way the case with me. The first church I attended as a Christian was the one my husband grew up in. We have attended several churches, but because we moved a lot for jobs (MrR was a contract engineer) and because of ministry work.
I have ALWAYS sought to attend where God has led me. This was never a young/mature Christian thing.
Sandy’s comment was uncalled for and completely false.
