If you ever find the perfect church, dont join it; youll wreck it!

You should take his advice. NO CHURCH IS PERFECT. The “church” is people. Only Christ is perfect.
However, thank you for pointing out just how much the LDS place their faith in ‘the Church’ rather than Christ.
You will find no arguement from me on that point :)
THAT is the most clear, sensible thing you have posted in MONTHS>
“I would run away from any church that required, demanded or pressured its members into tithing.”
There are myriad of churches you need to avoid. I heard so many sermons about tithing in the pentecostal, evangelical and baptist churches I have attended in the past.
Call me crazy - which I’m sure you will do - but as far as I’m concerned the Holy Bible is perfectly clear on the subject - it’s the only area where God tells us to try him to see if He will not open the windows of Heaven and pour us out a blessing . . .There’s also something about robbing God which is no small issue.
Someone posted that the Old Testament writings are now defunct on this subject, having been superseded by the New Testament, but I disagree.
Why can’t we agree to disagree? You go your way and I’ll go mine.
P.S. I believe that tithing is a privilege and honor.
You need the exercise in finding the verse more than I need to spoon feed you 10
One never goes hungry in a orchard of low hanging fruit.
You must be reading it backwards...
If they were just playing at being followers of Christ,

This is a very apt decsription of the LDS. They ‘play’ at being Christians. They are like 5 year olds playing ‘house’. They say the ‘right’ things, they ‘do’ the right things, but their motivations and beliefs are all wrong.
Considering you failed 'greek' referral, I would be surprised if you knew real eisegesis from a hole in the ground.

AND I HAVE NOT HEARD A SINGLE ONE IN OVER 17 YEARS of attending those same type of churches. Neither has my husband and his family are Hard Shell Baptists.
Doesn’t pass the smell test, Sandy.
The LDS idea of a holy ghost Resty?
the Holy Ghost is now in a state of probation which, if he should perform in righteousness, he may pass through the same or a similar course of things that the Son has" (Words of Joseph Smith, p, 245, capitalization and punctuation corrected)...
"the Holy Ghost is yet a spiritual body and waiting to take to himself a body as the Savior did, or as God did, or the Gods before them took bodies" (Words of Joseph Smith, p. 382, capitalization and punctuation corrected)

Drop Christ and any pretense of being Christian and you have a deal.
Well not completely, we are still directed to lead the lost back to him, but that takes a different approach than defending the faith from the attacks of the LDS does.
H”owever, thank you for pointing out just how much the LDS place their faith in the Church rather than Christ.”
A very cheap shot. Love of the Savior Jesus Christ is my whole life and the life of my Church. He is the Head of my Church and I love Him with all my heart. If it weren’t for Jesus Christ we would all be lost forever.
How dare you say such an evil thing about my Church and my Savior.
Since you misrepresented the greek "portion" in Acts 5:2, you challenge to Reaganaut is hollower than a hot air balloon.
I suspect I used that term in a post to him and he ‘adopted’ it without realizing what it really is.
*** Resty: Those who fear and unable to know theHoly Spirit will never beable to discern truth but will continuely act like a straw man jerk!
Well duh Resty, that's why we are asking you! Obviously you have been enlightened and can now discern the truth. Can we assume that any verse you quote has been translated correctly? We'd better start a list.
