Some will never accept any answer. Many don't want an answer. Those that are blinded by hate will always say “ They are not answering “ Are they really looking for why this man wanted to be shoot ? I think not. We have a troubled man that wants to be shoot and because of this I must explain why ? No one knows why. His lawyer says he had a troubled youth and many brain damage.

However, it is unrealistic to insist the Utah's firing-squad executions don't have anything to do with blood atonement. The current practice of firing-squad executions have a historical antecedent which is the doctrine of blood atonement.
