“”You could in no way back up your false claims as any investigation could easily prove””
Nonsense!
Saint Cyril on Apostolic Succession
“Our Lord, whose precepts and admonitions we ought to observe, describing the honour of a bishop and the order of His Church, speaks in the Gospel, and says to Peter: ‘I say unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock will I build my Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.’ Thence, through the changes of times and successions, the ordering of bishops and the plan of the Church flow onwards; so that the Church is founded upon the bishops, and every act of the Church is controlled by these same rulers.” Cyprian, To the Lapsed, 1 (A.D. 250).
Saint Cyril on Eucharist being the Real Body and Blood Of Christ..
“Then having sanctified ourselves by these spiritual Hymns, we beseech the merciful God to send forth His Holy Spirit upon the gifts lying before Him; that He may make the Bread the Body of Christ, and the Wine the Blood of Christ; for whatsoever the Holy Ghost has touched, is surely sanctified and changed.” Cyril of Jerusalem, Catechetical Lectures, XXIII:7 (c. A.D. 350).
Saint Cyril on Mary the Mother Of God...
“Many, my beloved, are the true testimonies concerning Christ. The Father bears witness from heaven of His Son: the Holy Ghost bears witness, descending bodily in likeness of a dove: the Archangel Gabriel bears witness, bringing good tidings to Mary: the Virgin Mother of God bears witness: the blessed place of the manger bears witness.” Cyril of Jerusalem, Catechetical Lectures, X:19 (c. A.D. 350).
Do I really need to continue on ,dear friend-Blessed Cyril was a Devout Catholic!
Do I really need to continue on ,dear friend-Blessed Cyril was a Devout Catholic!
I never said he wasn't. But he believed in Sola scriptura!
As the quotes we have provided prove, he said everything must be proved from scripture.
He certainly did not beleive in any later marian dogmas and said everything must be believed that is in the creeds, no more, no less.
