I only wish there were some way to question your assurity, because you couldn't be more in error.
I tell you that receiving the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist set me free as described by Paul in Romans 7 & 8 while more than twenty years of "being saved" left me enslaved to "that which I would not."
Perhaps you need to question why I have this assurity you are talking about. First of all, I know there are lots of saved Catholics and Protestants who’ve met Christ on their own personal terms. Many protestants have been freed of the alcoholism and drug use and have been given a new life just as I know many Catholics have. It wasn’t method and practise, or creed or kooky traditions, it was the living person of Jesus Christ. Yet this world is hurtling towards its destiny with God and the divide between evil and good is becoming even greater. It’s not the forms of worship that matter, its the person of Jesus Christ....all things have passed away, all things are becoming new. Evil has entered the leadership of many denominations protestant and catholic and we shall all have to be as the “locusts of proverbs’, having no visble king, yet marching out in orderly bands”. The times are going bring strange bed fellows of the faith together, differing in traditions and belief yet being made one in Jesus Christ...ironically being made into the one true “catholic”(small c) body that both you and I really do dream about.
And those my friend, are the goads I am referring to! There are Christians among the Protestants just like there are among the Catholics....persecution and the striking down of visible forms of leadership and open worship will force us all into oneship...like the church circa 50 ad or so! The church stripped of all manmade adornments and traditions, but made spotless and a true bride of Christ!
