I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

"Gospel" means "good news".

The Mormon version of the gospel isn't very good news at all, now is it? Unless you're a white, wealthy, fully-tithing male who was born into an LDS family, served a mission, attended BYU, with a obedient wife ( marriage sealed in the temple for time and all eternity) who is busy cranking out the babies while you attend to your priestly duties.

Then the news is pretty darn good.

I am afraid for anyone who takes it upon himself/herself to condemn another person, or group of persons, to hell. Now that is really frightening.

Lol. You don't know how "rich" this sounds. lol. thanx for the bellylaugh.

Giant posts are an indicator that I am about to read the thoughts of a third party, so they get skipped.

Raider Sam meet Elsie. Did ya hear that Elsie? lol.

and we love Him

- - -

If you loved Him, you (plural) wouldn’t insult His sacrifice on the Cross (by saying the sinbearing took place in the Garden), you (pl) wouldn’t think your works could contribute to salvation, you (pl) wouldn’t say He was the spirit brother of Satan, you (pl) wouldn’t claim He was your ‘elder brother’, you (pl) wouldn’t make Him a lesser god, you (pl) wouldn’t claim that you (pl) can earn godhood just like you (pl) claim He did.

The LDS don’t love or worship the Christ of the Bible. I know, I was one once. Mormons insult Christ and His sacrifice on the Cross and then claim to LOVE Him?!?!?!

Not even close.

this small group only seems concerned with pointing out the faults of Mormons.

- - - -
I as posted before on this thread, most of us were either LDS at one point and saw the light and/or have family and friends who are LDS.

BTW, we are not a ‘small group’.

MrR says that the LDS church is very attractive for men. It feeds their natural inclinations - pride, self-righteousness, authority, parade of women, control.

Apparently your reading skills need some work as I was quoting Sandy.

And you are right, it IS rich coming from a Mormon, who condemn all non-mormons to a virtual hell.

We believe that Jesus Christ restored priesthood authority to earth for the same reason that he ordained apostles and gave them authority in the New Testament. After Christ left the earth the apostles had the authority to direct the affairs of the church by revelation.

The apostles were killed, however, and over time the the authority to direct the church was lost. Hence the need for a restoration.

Stay off the religion forum. Really its simple.
There is nothing bigoted about exposing the vile and hideous lds blashpamy.
Do something else if you are not interested in engaging in conversation.
If you believe its claptrap post something that's true if you can.

She’s never answered a lot of things, or for that matter ever accepted responsibility for her comments when she’s been found in error.

One can only surmise that it’s beneath her to do so.

Here’s a question. What would happen to a LDS man if he showed up at services without his black suit jacket or even (gasp!) in a blue shirt?

V is LdS?

Interesting...

The lack of disclosure is telling.

Btw, as a matter of disclosure V, I’m an apostate mormon married to a very devout mormon.

Just saying, in the interest of full disclosure and all so you know where I’m coming from.

I sure wouldn’t want to cause any confusion about my purpose in posting here.

Now, what’s this about Polygamy?...

Search your posting history and perhaps you'll remember when you said it.

They have had every opportunity to dispel any “mis-information” or “falsehoods”, yet many times, they refuse.

MANY times??

What about the 3 Nephites, did they have the priesthood?

Latter-day Saints don’t believe that the organization of the church saves them. Christ alone can do that. [Normandy]

HOGWASH. In order to be saved (return to God the Father) you must...be an active, faithful, tithe paying, temple endowed Mormon. Everyone else goes to a ‘lower kingdom’... [Reaganaut]

(1) Mormons badly distort what the word "saved" means -- perhaps as much as any cult. Why? Because what is an eternal "saving" relationship minus living with Heavenly Father forever?

Yet Mormons try to pull one over on people that this constitutes "salvation" (Reaganaut's reference to a "lower kingdom")

(2) Lds apostles (like McConkie)...
...& LDS "prophets" (like Joseph Fielding Smith)...
...& LDS first presidents (like Marion G. Romney)...
...agree, in contrast to what Normandy just claimed, that there's no salvation outside the Mormon church or Mormon "prophet":

Bruce McConkie: "If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation. There is no salvation outside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" (Mormon Doctrine, p.670).

Joseph Fielding Smith: [There is] "no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith. If Joseph Smith was verily a prophet, and if he told the truth...no man can reject that testimony without incurring the most dreadful consequences, for he cannot enter the kingdom of God" (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p.190).

Marion G. Romney: "This Church is the ensign on the mountain spoken of by the Old Testament prophets. It is the way, the truth, and the life" (Conference Report, April, 1961, p. 119)

Actually, the LDS don’t. They also claim 12 apostles here in America.
