Even if a Catholic faithfully attends Mass weekly, they probably can't answer. According to the Lectionary reading charts, just a scant 27.6% of the Book of Hebrews is heard during weekly Catholic Mass (and it was only 5.6% before Vatican II). One would have to be a SuperCatholic and attend Mass daily to hear the priest read only 62% of Hebrews, which will take three years before the readings repeat.
Let's hope that all the presumed SuperCatholics here on FR "got cracking" and read the other 38% at home, instead of falling for the false idea that Catholics get the whole Bible at Mass.
THANKS FOR THE STATS.
Interesting.
Say, couldn’t I take Hebrews off of say BIBLEGATEWAY.COM
throw it into Word and count “faith” in it that way?
That doesn't pass the so what test. It is far better to get 30% right right than have the Rev. Billy-Bob Rolex prattle on incorrectly about 100% of it. The Catholic Liturgy is about worship, not witnessin', snake handlin', and preachin' or babbling on incoherently in "tongues" in a trance like state. We have not replaced the altar with a podium nor replaced the place of Christ in the worship with a little alter pontiff.
