I think you are stretching things a bit. mormons adhere to the arianism view of jesus(from what I understand)...that is that god CAUSED mary to become pregnant with jesus(presumably by willing it to happen, not by physically having intercourse with her). Mormons didn’t invent this idea. the ancient goths had this non-trinitarian theology also.

Nope. They believe god had sexual intercourse with Mary. Their jesus is a crated being, just like us and satan.

I believe you are incorrect. Someone with more knowledge than I, will come along and explain Mormon belief on the matter.

"The birth of our Savior was as natural as are the births of our children; it was the result of NATURAL ACTION. He partook of FLESH AND BLOOD--was begotten of his father, as we were of our fathers." (JoD, vol. 8, p. 115).

Manual "Gospel Living in the Home," p. 16-17: "Jesus Christ is the Son of Elohim both as spiritual and bodily OFFSPRING; that is to say, Elohim is LITERALLY the Father of the spirit of Jesus Christ and also of the BODY in which Jesus Christ performed his mission in the flesh..." (as quoted from 'The Articles of Faith' by James E. Talmage, p. 466).

"We are told in the scriptures that Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of God in the flesh....how are children begotten? I answer, just as Jesus was begotten of his Father. The Christian denominations believe that Christ was begotten not of God, but of the spirit that overshadowed his mother. THIS IS NONSENSE.

Okay. I will accept the consesus of the 12 as absolute authorative LDS doctrine. Where may I find a record of the consensus 12"?

Intriguing...although I believe Mormons were trying to give a rational yet generic reason to explain how Jesus was actually mortal yet was a son of immortal god :46 chromosomes: 23 maternal from Mary, and 23 paternal from god himself, which could have only come about from a “physical” act...magritte

Dedication to uphold the freedom of religion is not the same as agreeing about religion and nature of God. Does the inability to understand the right to disagree make someone more or less likely to stand united for that freedom.

Interesting question: Isn't this the common criteria?

Christians are those that:

1) Worship in the Spirit of God
2) Glory in Christ
3) And put no confidence in the flesh

I agree, and would add "truth" to the criteria that you list.

You guys are insane. There’s no reason to believe that god isn’t capable of willing a woman to become pregnant.

I don’t see any quotes from the book of mormon, which is the mormon bible. Why is that? maybe because it doesn’t exist in the mormon bible and you are full of *.

Keep trying.

That is not what I am talking about.

You said you did not believe that LDS teach that Mary had sexual intercourse with their god.

I said you were incorrect.

I further gave you the words to their teachings.

Are you saying you do not believe what they say they believe?

Well, interesting. So the words of the LDS leaders don’t mean anything to you. OooooKay then.
