I heard some terrible hermeneutics in my days as a catholic .
And so have I. I cringe sometimes.

If the magistrum is the definer of what scripture means they are the author of those poor hermeneutics

I heard Sr Angela say on her show yesterday there are many ways to interpret the bible but we will not understand them until we are in heaven ... poor sister admits on television she does not understand what scripture says..hey but thats ok as long as she will in heaven

What a church failure when a nun can not understand the word of God..because it is that very word that leads to eternal life..the fact she can not understand it means she will never get to heaven

And because they can't figure out what the scripture says, they figure no one else can either...

No. that assumes the preachers were capable and desirous of knowing what the Vatican said.

Magisterium, not magistrum. The Church is guilty of not instructing people on Scripture anywhere near well enough.

Does that mean that every child who dies goes to hell?
