He had close friends as any human does. Training them and preparing them for the purpose of spreading the Gospel is not establishing a hierarchy.
But hey, have a great time with the "church of the we interpret the Bible to fit your beliefs".
Nope, I fit my beliefs to follow the Bible, which is really not that hard to understand.
You know the ones that decided they didn't like the "rules" about no married clergy, so the changed it.
Peter was married. Many of the other disciples and apostles were married. There is no requirement given anywhere in Scripture that demands that those in positions of spiritual authority be single or celibate if married.
Then they didn't like the rules about no women in the clergy, so they changed it. Then they decided that it was wrong that non-celibate homosexuals should be excluded from the clergy, so they changed that. There new "rule" they don't like is the one about marriage being between a man and a woman, but thanks to YOPIOS they are changing that one too.
Denominations and congregations which have gone that far have rejected all of any authority of Scripture. They are the ones who don't accept the Deity of Christ either. Or the virgin birth. Or the resurrection. Or any of the other critical theology about Christ or God.
It's not a matter of personal interpretation of Scripture, with them it's a matter of wholesale rejection of Scripture.
Tooooo true far tooooooooo often.
