There are other interpretations of the verses that deal with the keys of heaven and the rock on which Christ’s church is built. Those verses do not have to be interpreted to mean only what the Catholic church says they mean.
That being the case, I do not recognize the Catholic Church’s claim of having the only correct interpretation of those verses, or of their claim that it makes them the only true church, or that it gives them spiritual authority over everyone on the planet.
I do not recognize as legitimate their claim of spiritual authority over me, or any pronouncements they make about my spiritual state or eternal destiny.
Salvation is through Christ alone, not any one denomination. God tells us all we need to know in Scripture and it is not all that hard to understand, not nearly as hard as the Catholic Church would have us believe.
Perhaps those who have asserted that they choose to give their ALL to God,
would be willing to articulate some of the ways they try and walk that out, live that out.
I believe it would be edifying and instructive for all of us.
. . . and give a chance for those who wished to—to return their postings on this thread to a different focus.
