So were there real physical snakes on the floor or not? Nevermind...
What I had asked for is a Scriptural reference wrt your statement that the devil must submit to the laws of nature - That, it seems to me, is not going to happen.
[...] thats why the pharisees committed unpardonable sin against the Holy Spirit by attributing Christs miracles to the work of the devil;-The pharisees were the theoligians of their day and they knew perfectly well that ONLY God can produce a real miracle-thats why they committed unpardonable sin
It is not the physical manifestation that points to the Spirit, but His nature:
Mar 3:22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
Mar 3:23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
Mar 3:24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
Mar 3:25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
Mar 3:26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
Mar 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
Mar 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
Mar 3:30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.
(e-sword: KJV)
... And by the way no is arguing against the Miracle of Moses-it was the work of God-not Moses
I know that - That is why I said:
No, it seems rather sure that God's miracle through Moses defeated the miracle performed by the minions of Satan (Pharaoh's magi), else there would be no need for the eating. One could just walk over and pass a hand through the illusion to prove it false, then and there. Contest over. src
Enjoy your defense of the devil, its very telling by the other comments you make
May God bless you for your concern.
“”It is not the physical manifestation that points to the Spirit, but His nature:””
Partially true, but it was Christ first Miracle that cemented this belief with disciples
“This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee; and manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him.-John 2:11 Douay-Rheims
The following from the late Martyn Lloyd-Jones-who by the way was a reformed preacher that I always loved although I disagree with some of his theology at time-many of his sermons exude much love....
“We are studying John’s account of the wedding at Cana not only because it is a record of a historical event but because it is a miracle. The Son of God here on earth worked miracles. It was one of his ways, as John puts it, of showing us, of giving a sign, that He is indeed the Son of God. But we are interested in this incident primarily because it is at the same time a parable. John’s theme in his Gospel is that our Lord came to give us life which is life indeed, and this incident shows us how this fullness, this ‘grace upon grace’, is to be received”.-Martyn Lloyd-Jones
BTW, I don’t use the KJV because it’s packed full of errors, even many protestant scholars agree-this has been discussed many time here on FR.
