7 When you pray, dont babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8 Dont be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! 9 Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, --New Living Translation 7And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking. [I Kings 18:25-29.] 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. 9Pray, therefore, like this: 15But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their [j]reckless and willful sins, [k]leaving them, letting them go, and [l]giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses. --Amplified Pray with Simplicity 5"And when you come before God, don't turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat? 6"Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace. 7-13"The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They're full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don't fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this: 16-18"When you practice some appetite-denying discipline to better concentrate on God, don't make a production out of it. It might turn you into a small-time celebrity but it won't make you a saint. If you 'go into training' inwardly, act normal outwardly. Shampoo and comb your hair, brush your teeth, wash your face. God doesn't require attention-getting devices. He won't overlook what you are doing; he'll reward you well. |

As Christ emphasized and Paul in Galatians emphasizes--IT WON'T WASH BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD.
Precisely.
What brazen, shocking affrontery to the plain WORD OF GOD! Sheesh. God have mercy.
If that’s the kind of theology he puts out,
FLAPDOODLE would be an improvement.
“Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” - Jesus Christ, The Lion of Judah, King of Kings.

INDEED.
Did you get a copy of Ferraro’s book, too?
Matthew 23:9 “Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.
Those are Jesus own words right there, straight out of the Gospels.
The man’s given name is Mark Kirby.
Which word did you not understand?
NO hate of Roman Catholics et al, at all.
not a microgram’s worth.
I realize ya’ll’s rubber dictionary has
“hate” as the daffynition of DISAGREE
but the rest of the English Speaking World
does NOT.
Wellllllllllllll
harumph
and a crate of raspberries to you!
You like red ones or blackcaps?
LOL
I can't "put her" anywhere but where she is. I don't have the power to rearrange heaven like that.
Exodus 20:
1 And God spoke all these words:
2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.
lol, I’m allergic to raspberries, so bake me up a big pie of’em
I take umbrage that you would try to force upon anyone a title which is specifically taught against in Scripture.
Why do Catholics pray to her? Don’t they think they can take their requests to God?
Or do they think that they can get from her what they can’t get from God?
If they’re not getting it from God, why would Mary cross God’s will and give it to them anyway?
Well, we certainly do that.
and theres no praying to Mary, saints, angels, dead people or anyone else but God the Father
You just wrecked your own argument with the last one, unless you are prepared to argue that prayer to the Son or to the Holy Spirit is idolatrous. (And if prayer to the Son is idolatrous, then explain it to Stephen in Acts.)
That's mind-reading
Why does Paul ask people to pray for him? Doesn't he think he can take his own requests to God?
Nope. I have to "make do" with the Word of Almighty God. But then, it always seems to be far more than enough.
: P
Jesus is God, even so, we pray in “Jesus’ name”. You can’t wiggle out of that one, you act contrary to the words of Mary herself, let alone Christ’s.
It’s not idolatrous because Jesus is God himself.
Mary isn’t.
