So the State of NH will decide if a 13 YO can be married, but that is not an option in UT. Got it. Thus UT must be Mormon and support child brides, even though they have a higher minimum possible age for marriage.

The one year difference in age is completely secondary to the vast difference in authority.

Thus UT must be Mormon and support child brides, even though they have a higher minimum possible age for marriage.

New Hampshire doesn't allow minors to be married off without a court order, while Utah permits a parent to marry off a minor child. This distinction invalidates your false equivocation in post #44. If you want to trade your minor daughter into a marriage with an older man, Utah is a much better place to be than New Hampshire. Given the two century difference in the age of the respective laws, it must be because people in Utah still like it that way.
